FGE is a non-Governmental Organization (NGO) which aids in the development of people with special needs. The Ministry of Social Welfare approved it as a non-profit organization in 1980 (agreement No. 4333). It is inscribed in the National Council of Disabilities (No. 39). The institutional policy of FGE is congruent to the national policy of the Ecuadorian State about development and social involvement of people with special needs.
During its 27 years, FGE has became one of the most important national non-governmental organizations in the disability field. Some areas we excel in are: prevention of disabilities, providing information about disabilities and training/integration of persons with disabilities. Our projects and programs are described below.
Mission
Fundación General Ecuatoriana supports social development, with efficient human resources, that contributes to the prevention of disabilities and to the growth of the quality of life of persons with disabilities. This is achevied through high-level services of training, consultation, documentation, research, professional training and labor involvement. We fully support the empowerment of people with disabilities in order to obtain complete inclusion into society.
Vision
To obtain a quality leadership in Non-Governmental Organizations that work in the areas of training, advancement of information and a keen sensitivity to ones needs. Based on the principles of social justice, we are focused on human and social development, with emphasis of persons with disabilities.
